Despite a decrease in the number of Russian tourists coming to Turkey since the beginning of the year, bookings for foreign tours by Russian citizens are increasing.
In the first quarter of 2024, the share of Russian citizens booking trips abroad rose by 20% compared to the same period last year.
There is a particular increase in interest among Russian tourists in countries such as Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Cuba.
Additionally, Mauritius, Vietnam, and Indonesia are becoming increasingly popular vacation destinations among Russians.
It is noted that as the number of holiday destinations favored by Russian tourists grows, the proportion of tourists going to Turkey, traditionally the top choice, decreases.
